David Černý’s work is always widely discussed for the delicate topics it touches. It might be this controversial aspect that made Černý one of the best known Czech contemporary artists. SIGNAL productions brought one of his latest artworks to the Dutch audience during the 3rd Annual Light Festival which took place in Amsterdam from 27th of November till 18th of January.
SPEEDERMAN is 4 meters high and 600 kilograms weighing light sculpture representing a naked man in super-fast motion and it was presented for the first time within the SIGNAL festival in Prague just few months before the Amsterdam event. This time the sculpture was presented in an out-door exhibition of the local Hermitage Museum.
David Černý wasn’t the only Czech representative in the Light Festival in Amsterdam. Two Czech street artist brought their workshop RAW Tag Tool within which they create a single picture through two different iPads in front of the viewers. The visitors could also actively take part in the workshop on their own iPads.
